According to the Christian Broadcast Network, for a mere $20, one crisp Jackson, you can buy a deck of 51 playing cards that feature the photos of “high-profile Democrats*”…to pray for them.
Taking a lesson from St. Paul, they are praying for our national leaders. Not to insure their health and well-being. But that God will intervene, “so each can become a good influence on our Nation’s culture.”
The Liberty Counsel website urges its readers to “pray earnestly and intensely for them! Pray that the Lord would move upon them and cause them to be the kind of leaders who will encourage others to lead “a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.”
I guess they will they be praying for these liberals to vote against the death penalty, torture, and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and in favor of gun control.
Who are these high profile liberals anyway?
The list includes: New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank, White House Director of Science and Technology John Holdren, Executive Director of Americans United for Separation of Church and State Barry Lynn, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, President Barack Obama, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Senate President Harry Reid, Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger, Maine Senator Olympia Snowe, Talk Show Host Alan Colmes, MSNBC Commentator Keith Olbermann, MSNBC Rachel Maddow, And the Unknown Liberal – fill in the blank
Liberty Counsel is so sure that these pious methods will work that they, “fully expect that many of our adoptees will “graduate” from this prayer program with vivid testimonies of God having changed their lives and worldviews!”
Now that would be a miracle!
